Executive Chef Luca Caputo

At the heart of Cantina Amici is Executive Chef and Owner Luca Caputo, whose cooking is deeply rooted in his native Napoli and guided by a philosophy shared throughout the Mediterranean:

It is a philosophy Luca has embraced through his Italian heritage and the influence of our Greek friends, whose ancient Mediterranean culture recognized the connection between what we eat, how we live and how we feel.

For Luca, this means beginning with honest ingredients and treating them with respect. Fresh vegetables, tomatoes, olive oil, herbs, seafood, quality meats, handmade pasta and traditionally prepared pizza are not simply components of a dish—they are part of a way of eating that has brought Mediterranean families together around the table for generations.

His approach can be experienced throughout the Cantina Amici menu. Rather than unnecessarily complicating food, Luca believes great ingredients should be allowed to express themselves. His cooking combines the traditions of Napoli with the generosity of Mediterranean cuisine: fresh ingredients, thoughtful preparation, balance and flavour.
